Rural Surveyor
Lambert & Foster have an exciting opportunity for a qualified energetic surveyor to join our professional team, initially in Paddock Wood but with the option of operating from our East Sussex or East Kent office, which is due to open in Autumn 2020/ Spring 2021. Job description
Lambert & Foster is a leading rural firm of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Town Planners and Land Agents with a strong presence in the rural property sector in Kent and East Sussex. We are an RICS regulated firm undertaking estate management, valuation, rural agency, estate agency, lettings, auction, rural professional work and via our sister company, Bloomfields, a wide range of planning and development work.
The role will have a particular focus on the valuation of a wide range of rural and residential properties, for a variety of purposes, as well as providing other advice on matters including landlord and tenant, property management, subsidies, stewardships and grants. The position can be tailored to suit the individual, however, we are seeking someone with at least 3 years post qualification experience. You will join a young, enthusiastic and happy team working on a wide variety of interesting and sometimes challenging projects. Key responsibilities
The key responsibilities will be as follows:
- Valuing rural property including farms, estates, residential portfolios and other mixed use property assets
- Professional advice on landlord and tenant with specific knowledge on Agricultural Tenancies Act and Agricultural Holdings Act matters
- Routine contact with and advice to a range of different clients
- An active role in the promotion of the firm and the department, attending events throughout the year, networking with other professional advisers and new clients to grow the business
Skills required
The candidate must have the following skills:
- Chartered RICS Member and Registered Valuer
- FAAV status is preferred but not essential
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in an organised and methodical fashion
- Managing time effectively whether part of a team or working independently
- Pro-active and hardworking
- Full driving licence and own car
